New Landscape Design and Installation
Renovation of Existing Landscapes
Everyone has different needs, desires and constraints when thinking about what
to do with their landscape; this applies whether your landscape is barren and unplanted or an
older property, landscaped long ago.
The importance of good planning based on property use and the
desires of the owners, done early in the landscape process, cannot be overemphasized.
At Schilling Horticulture, we see our job as helping you find the best answers for you
and your property. We take pride in guiding our clients as we gather the information
that helps us find those best solutions. We take into account things like desired plants,
themes and colors, and what views you want to maintain, frame, or block. We also take into
account how you want to use the property: from big issues like 'how do you like to entertain
and relax,' or 'do you want an area for a vegetable garden,' to practical issues like 'where
do you want to put the trashcans.'
Our job starts by listening closely to you. We combine your desires
with our skills and understanding of horticulture in Southern Nevada, and create a
garden or landscape that best meets your needs and tastes. You're welcome to be involved
in the design process as much or as little as you like. If you have specific ideas, let
us know, but if you want to hand most of the direction of the design over to us, you can
rest assured we will work diligently and thoughtfully to create something beautiful for
you.
We also make sure our work is sustainable. We don't ever want anyone
to have to redo our work. Our landscapes are designed to grow even more beautiful and valuable
over time. We choose plants that are likely to thrive in different areas of your yard. For
special plants you may want, we try to give them an environment that will help them realize
their full potential. We design with the long term growth of the plants always in mind, making
sure they have room to grow. As a result, less work is required to keep them smaller than
they naturally want to grow, and plants are healthier (less pruning stress), more natural and
attractive, not sheared into balls - yuck!
We also are artisans. We love to combine plants in ways that make
them shine! We combine plants to best take advantage of contrast and compliments of form,
texture and color. Our artistic approach to horticulture creates stunningly beautiful scenes
and landscapes.
